New homes for four families in Fabbriche (Voltri) forced to flee their homes last November because of the flooding of the River Cerusa which had rendered their homes uninhabitable. This morning, in Ponente Town Hall in Piazza Gaggero, President Mauro Avvenente and the commissioner of Social Services Emanuela Fracassi delivered the keys to the new apartments to each family.
The apartments – situated in Voltri, in Via Pastore – are part of the district contract and may be assigned temporarily for emergency housing. “We set ourselves the goal” said President Avvenente “to give shelter to those who had lost their homes. Today we deliver the keys to four social housing apartments that we have obtained thanks to the collaboration of the local social services. These people will be able to leave the hotel where they were staying temporarily and return to normal.”
The homes have been furnished thanks to the generosity of Consulcesi Onlus (who for many years have been involved in initiatives in Italy and Africa) and the Ikea in Campi.
“The four apartments, dedicated to the housing crisis, now temporarily host these families” said Emanuela Fracassi “thanks to the generous donations of Consulcesi and Ikea, we could furnish them completely, allowing the family decent accommodation”.
